Beyonce met Latavia at an audition 1990.They became a group together.Kelly rowland also joined to in 1992.Their original name was actually Girl’s Tyme.They were cut down to 6 members Támar Davis and sisters Nikki and Nina Taylor.The group was actually getting attention.They were featured in Star search some Artist have been on does platforms.It’s a good way to get attention especially at the begginning it can help you out a lot.They didn’t win the competition.It’s not surprising.Plenty of talented groups they do not end up becoming successful.Talent shows are not always right .Especially if the Judges are the ones that are deciding.
Matthew Knowles decided that he was going to Manage their career.And cut the group to 4 .He removed the Taylor sister and Davis.And Letoya luckett was included in 1993.Girl’s time were always practising . You can see videos of them Dancing .They were practising all the time .And they were very young 9 to 10 years old.Working for their dreams.They were also performing at local gigs.When your starting you have to try everything to make sure that yuor name is getting out there.During Summer Matthew established a summer camp to train them in Dance and in vocal lessons.
After the training that they did.In my opinion i would call it Artist development.They were doing opening acts for SWV,Dru hill,Immature.The group changed their name so many times . The dolls , Something fresh.And finally they settled with Destiny child.When your picking a name you need to make sure that it stand out and rolls over people tongue easily.Because it will benefit in the long term.They signed with Elektra records.They were dropped before they could even release an Album.1995 Matthew resigned from his Job as a Medical equipment Salesman.This was a very big risk.Because the group may have not become successful.However , Matthew was able to negotiate a deal with Columbia records.
Matthew had a background as a Salesman that could have helped him when it come his negotiating skills.Destiny child first charted in 1997 with a song called No , No, No.Their first album was released in 1998 with Beyonce , Kelly , Latavia , Letoya.After all the trials that they went though.Latavia even said it took 8 years to get a record deal.It sold over 1 million copies in America.The girls 16/17 still very young and still trying to find themselves.And found success with their first album.Matthew knowles didn’t give up on this group.They continued working and getting better at their craft.
Writings on the wall was released in 1999 July 27 second album .And it was their breakthough album.They were thing going on behind the scenes when it comes to Letoya and Latavia .They felt like Beyonce and Kelly were getting more favoured .They said that the manager kept the profits of the groups.Sometimes when a family member is involved.It can be difficult .Because other group members will feel like.The manager is doing things for the success of their own child.And not for the benefit of the group.They were suppose to be in a Music video for Say my name . However , they were replaced by 2 other members.People were surprised and didn’t understand why the other 2 original members were not there.
They were replaced by Michelle williams and Farrah franklin.5 months after joinin.Farrah left the group.And it was cut down to 3 Michelle , Kelly, Beyonce.Letoya and Latavia formed their own groups.However , they left because of the record company.It sucks how things turned out when it comes to Destiny child.Because they were making a name for themselves and becoming successful.And Letoya and Latavia couldn’t stay in the groups.And because of things that were happening in the second group.Destiny child became even more successful.Destiny released a soundtrack song for Charlies angels movie.
Independent women was released.And it was another successful song.Destiny released their third album called Survivor.The title was inspired by the Media mocking Destiny child.Because so many group members were leaving .And Destiny child wouldn’t survive.And everybody else will leave.It was released on April of 2001.Destiny child won 2 grammy awards.Destiny child did their own individual projects.2002 Michelle released a gospel album .Kelly released dilemma that has billion of views on Youtube a collab that she did with Nelly.Beyonce pursued Acting and was featured in a movie called Austin powers in Goldmember Fighting temptation .Beyonce was clearly wanting to be an actress .Kelly rowland released an album and it made her a name for herself.
Beyonce album Dangerously in love was released in 2003.After 3 year break .Destiny child recorded their fourth and Final album called Destiny Fulfilled.Soldier , Cater 2 u , Lose my breath.They went on a worldwide tour.In the album they collaborated with Lil wayne , T.I.People always talked about Michelle williams having the most iconic bridges.And she does when you listen to the song Soldier and listen to Michelle part.It’s always very good.It’s lile you can’t wait to get to the finish line type of vibe.Michelle williams was the right pick when it comes to her being part of the group.
In total Destiny child have 5 albums.They have pursued their own things like singing , Acting . The time that we saw them do thing together was for Michelle wiliams song Say yes Beyonce and Kelly rownland was featured. Destiny child were seen reunited in the Rennaissance film.Would we see Detsiny child release an album it would be iconic just for them to give us an album.The fans would be happy because they haven’t released any original songs in a very long time.Especially with the original members it would be good to see them perform.
Destiny child will always be remembered as the group.That had an iconic era.They made music that was powerful.When you listen to songs like Independent women.They weren’t trying to make catchy lyrics.However, trying to make lyrics that are empowering.These are all young women that are successful with their own individual careers and are doing well.Matthew knowles knew what he was doing.After they split he was managing Beyonce career and she split with her father 2010/2011.Destiny child would also be remembered as a group that never gave up despite the many challenges that they faced.
