Tems and her familed moved to the Uk when she was a Baby . She then moved back to Nigeria when she was Around 5 years old.Tems attended Dowen college. And then went to school in South africa.She was first noticed by her Teacher and she also learned how to play piano.She was often practicing learning how to Sing.2018 Tems quit her job to pursue a career in Music.This is something that not everybody can take this risk.When it comes to quitting a job to pursue a career that they really love.They have to make sure that they fully go 100 on it.

Tems talked about the fact quitting her job worked for her .Because she trusted God wholeheartedly.You need to be very confident when it comes to this decision.Because what if it doesn’t work.And you fail.And then what happens.It’s not always easy to find a job.Especilly right now people have talked about the economy being the worst when it comes to looking for a job.For the average person it would be better to balance out until your dream is working.Because if you don’t come from a family that will support you when it comes to suporting you.It would be difficult for you to live.

Tems then started learning production skills on Youtube.There are some Artist that will learn to produce .Because maybe they can’t afford a producer.Producers are not cheap.They are expensive.Especially if you want a quality producer.That can really take your sound to another level.July 2018 she released her first song called Mr rebel and the song was produced by herself.Producing for yourself is a good idea because when you get a professional producer.They can get an idea of what he can bring to the table.August 2019 she released another song called Try me.In 2020 a Dj gave her top 10 Artist to watch that year.

Dj’s are Underrated in the Music industry.They can play a big part when it comes to an Artist success.Many people don’t think they are important because they are just for special occassions.However , if they have developed a clientele and they are popular or even if they are not that popular.They can really make a big impact on an Artist career.Tems was featured on a song with Davido.As a Nigerian aspiring Artist if you manage to get a collab with Davido.This just shows that your doing something right.Because Davido has a big fanbase.He has even collaborated with American Artist.

September 25 of 2020 she released an Ep called For broken ears.They were mainly produced by her.Damages was the song on the Ep that got attention.It was climbing the Nigerian Apple Music chart.It got 5 mllion views on Youtube.October 2020 she collaborated with Wizkid on a song called Essense.That collab gave her international success.People all over the world were playing the song.Nigerian Music has had it’s success over the years.And it wasn’t always like that.In fact there wasn’t a lot of respect for Nigerian Artist .But now there is so much more respect.People appreciate the genre.Could it be that quality of Music has gotten better and better?.

Tems and Wizkid also received a Grammy nomination.There was a remix of the song that was featured with Justin Bieber.There was some controversy when it comes to Justin bieber being featured.They felt like he was the wrong person.To feature vecause he isn’t an Afrobeats Artist.There has been some people that fee like Afrobeats need to be gatekeep.Because if it gets too spread around.It will loose it’s essense of the sound.There are some Nigerian Artist that have even come out and said that they are not Afrobeats Artist.After using the sound to get to where they are at.All of the sudden they are dropping the ball on it.

Some people suspect it’s because.Labels are making them supress Afrobeats.To get to an even larger audience.Tems was featured on a collab with Future called Wait for U.The song was on Hot 100.Tems was making History she was the first African Artist to make it the top 100.Tems was breaking barriers in her career.Nigerian Artist breaking into the American market isn’t easy.It’s very tough.And many Nigerian Artist have tried really hard.And they don’t make it.Tems did a cover of Bob marley song called No woman No cry for the marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Tems was in another Hot 100 with her song free mind.Tems was featured in Beyonce album called Rennaissance .Tems was being seen not only as a Good Artist but as a songwiter uswell.Because she co – wrote on a song with Rihnna for the Black panther soundtrack.She was also nominated for a Golden Globe award.Tems won her first Grammy awad for her collab with Drake and Future for Best melodic Rap performance it was the first Nigerian that ever won this award.Tems winning the Grammy means that she was going to get more opportunities.Grammy’s are a big deal.

October 5 2023 she released a song called Me and you .The song charted in the Uk.March 2024 she won her Billboard award.Tems album her first ever album is set to be released 7 June 2024.What to expect from Tems.We expect more of a Afrobeats sound.And we could even see her experimenting when it comes to her sound.Because you don’t want to keep doing the same type of Music.People can easily get bored.And then you will be forgotten.Tems could experiementing when it comes to working with different producers.When you make it in the Music industry.You want to feature different Producers.To make your music sound unique

Tems future is bight.She has good songwriting skills.The type of Music that she makes might not be for everyone.Some people have criticised her online when it comes to her Music.And she has responded to people on Twitter to give up on trying to like her Music. In the album she has revealed J cole and Asake as someone that would be featured .People are very excited to hear Tems full body of work.She isn’t someone that releases albums like that.We think at Valenzio that the best way to do.Not releasing too much music is better.Music it will bring your audience excitement.People will be more eager to listen to your music.When you keep it misterious.
