Remy is born in Bronx.She was forced to take care of her siblings.And already as you can read.This is someone that didn’t grow up easily in a home.This is someone that clearly went through things.And now they have become a successful Rapper.This could have been what might have pushed her into becoming a rapper as of now.She then decided to start writing poetry.Poetry is such a unique concepts in the Music industry that is missing.She then started getting attention in bronx.And one of the Rapper called Big pun gave her attention.After meeting in a freestyle session .Big pun took remy under his wong and mentored her.
She started off her career under the name Remy martin and she was featured on Big pun album on a song called Ms martin and You was wrong.After the death of Big pun.Fat joe signed to remy ma where she became a member of his group Terror squad.She appeared on their second and final album . There was a song called lean back.And that song became very successful.It actually put them on the map completely.Everybody was doing their move .And doing the lean back dance.It became a super hit song that people really loved.
Remy released her debut album There’s Something About Remy: Based on a True Story.”Whuteva”, “Conceited” and “Feels So Good”.The album caught some attention.However it wasn’t like a breakthrough.There was something about women rapper.When it comes to the sound that they will use .It was very sophisticated.Remy ma was doing this during the early 2000’s were the wasn’t a lot of women rappers in the Music industry.And the men in the music industry were absolutely killing it.Remy was’t happy when it comes to the promotion of the album.She then decided to her separate ways with Fat joe and Terror squad.
She began working on her second album called PunisHer.And collaborative female group.During the release of her album.There was an incident that happen.And she was sentenced to 8 years in prison.Which honestly affected her career growth.There was so many things that she could have done during does times.When your starting to get attention.You want to make sure that you keep the hype .Being able to maintain.Will make people want to come to you.While she was in jail she released mixtapes.And she was in jail for 6 years and she was released in 2014.2014 was a different time from 2008 so many things have changed and it’s different.
Remy ma joined the cast of Love and hip hop new york.And this was such a good idea.For people to see what she has been up to .Because she has being prison for 6 years.So people can really see what type of music or vibe is she going to be releasing .It will be very interesting for her die hard supporters.She was featured with her husband papoose.They also had their own spin off show.Fat joe and Remy released their collaborative album together and their song all the way up.Became very successful.And it was even nominated for 2 grammy awards.
During this time Remy ma and Nicky got into a batttle rap situation that happend in 2017.People were shocked to see them having a battle rap and they were very excited for it.Remy was praised when it came to the song called Shether.Many people felt like they did very well.When it comes to the song.People were amazed by the harsh digs.Nicky responded However , people were not impressed.And one thing about Remy ma she is a battle rapper.She is much different from other Rapper.Even if she is not as big as others.She has made a name for herself in the battle rap industry.Which people will always tag her with.
Remy released a song called Wake me up.She was also featured with French montana.And she was featured in a movie.Remy also launched a rap batttle league and it was to give women more oporunties to showcase their talent.This is a good opportuntiy for younger women to be known more.Remy ma career could have been even longer.If she didn’t to to jail.However , she had made a name for herself when it comes to battle rapping .People will always reference her in the next 20 years.She has a daughter that was born in 2018.
Remy was married to papoose however they have gone their separate ways.The women in Rap especially the ones that have been in the Music industry for a long time.Especially the ways that they see it.It’s completely different.Right now in 2024.Will we see more of the younger genration doing rap batttle.Not as much because it’s a completely different geenration when it comes to their generation.Music isn’t as competitve because many people are being able to do it as a career.It used to be a skill that used to be gatekept.It wasn’t for everyone.They had to make sure that they actually had the talent . What type of Rap music are people trying to listen to . Especially nowadays . Do you care about bars.Some people just want to be vibe to the song.And not really about . Does the person even know how to rap.There something for everyone.When it comes to msuic there is always a style that people really like more.And that is the truth.Some people really appreciate vocalist.Because they make the song sound more exciting.The excitment makes them very happy .The happyness makes them want to listen to the song more.That why people like Mariah carey and whitney houston are very admired in the music industry.
