Kirstin Maldonado , , Mitch Grassi , Scott Hoying . It started off with them 3 .They grew up together and they went to the same school.It was a local radio competion for Glee.They submitted and arranged a version of  a song called Telephone Lady gaga ft Beyonce.They didn’t win the competition their singing got the attention from the school .Their version of Telephone got attention on Youtube.Glee was such a successful a series and they created so many stars it could have created opporunity for them because the way that they do covers of other Sinegrs is very unique in compared to other people.

The members graduated high school in 2010.And some even attented USC to pursue a degree in popular music performance.And some even attended University of Oklahoma.Scott joined a cappella group Socialvocals.There was a show called Sing off and he was encouraged to auditon one thing about exposing yourself as a singer whereas keeping yourself to yourself is that . If people appreciate the talent that you have.They will praise you very well.And they will really support you because they really like the Music that you make.He made Maldonado and Grassi to join him and was also encouraged to find a beatboxer.

Through a mutual friend hoying met with Avi kaplan.And then they found Kevin Olusola through a Youtbe video that basically went viral.He was beatboxing and playing the cello.One thing about people that were releasing covers on Youtube they were not trying to be like other people.Youtube at that time was extremely different then it was now.Things are extremely different.A lot of people are doing the same thing.The group met the day before auditions and for the third season of Sing off and went to win a title in 2011.Scott Hoying and Kirstie Maldonado  dropped out of college in hopes in winning the competition.

This was such a big risk what if they didn’t win .It could have backfired on them.Mitch grassy didn’t go to his high school graduation.After they won all the members relocated to Los angeles.They wanted to become a mainstream artist.It can be hard when you win a competition and win and become successful.They are so many people that become forgotten.They signed with  a label called Madison gate records.They began working on their first album with their producer Ben bram.During that 6 month period they were picking covers and doing original and you can go on Youtube and find all of these things.

They did covers in Order to stay relevant.Which honestly made them popular every single time their work was shared it was mainly about covers that they were doing.And if your doing something that people really like.Then you need to make sure that you continue with it.Or else people may not pay attention to you.Their first Ep did very well and it was released in 2012.The group went on press conferances as PR and marketing.Are many people doing this in 2025.They also went on their first tour in 2012.The group released a Christmas album November of 2012.

They released a Christmas Ep.In november of 2012.Christmas music is loved.Many people appreciate Christmas music because of the season and people can stay home and spend time with their families.They went on a headline tour in 2013 and 2014 us well.They released a cover of Mcklemore and also Ryan lewis.They did a mashup of evolution of Beyonce which became one of their most popular.Videos on Youtube they are so many songs that Beyonce has done that many people love and appreciate.In 2014 they signed with RCA Records.In 2014 they released their third ep called PTX, Vol. III.They released a second Christmas album .People clearly love their covers

The album was the highest most charting album since 1962.The album was certified double platinum.In 2015 Scott revealed that they transitioning into doing Original Music that can be a risk.Especially when your known to make certain Music that attract that audience.This could be that they may not care that much.because they want to hear Music from their favourite artist and not from yours.They also released another Christmas album and Tori kelly was featured in it.The song is written so good.The group announced that Avi would  beleaving the group.And that was hard for day one supporters to hear that.

It’s always hard to get used to that.The group then released a cover called Dancing on my own.They also released their own upcoming album called PTX Presents: Top Pop, Vol. I .After that they kept on releasing covers and Ep’s.Happy now is their original song that they released.This strategy that they used when it comes to doing covers worked in their favours becaus they have been able to develop a  following.Not a lot of people can do that.Pentatonix have won 3 grammy awards.What makes them successful in the Music covers when there is a lot of covers.And the simple answer is their delivery.

Their style of covers is different and people want people that are doing things that are different and not like everyone else.Winning Grammy awards also has help them out.When you create things that are different it will go and do very well.In compared to other.Pentatonix creation of the group was Organic and you can tell that it wasn’t forced and that why they were able to to make such amazing music together .And even just watching their videos there is a part for everyone and everyone knows what they are suppose to be doing.They are constantly delivering

When it comes to delivering good music.Good music is made when everyone puts in the effort to succed.Groups are not easy to be in.And many people feel like they can just do whatever that they like in that sense.However , Groups like Pnetatonxi will last.Because they know what to do in order to stay relevant.They have tapped into a market that many people haven’t in the Music industry.And that is Groups.There aren’t that many group in 2025.So that gives them a lot more attention to them.It could really help them out.And also that they are actually good.Because many people loose interest when it comes to Musicians.
