She has a Black American Japanese heritage. Her mother has that heritage. She has 7 siblings. And Jhene Aiko is one of them. She is also successful in the music industry. When it comes to the start of her career, she was in a dance group. Mila then auditioned for a group called Diamonds and Pearls. And it was for the singer Prince. So this was big. If she had something like this it could be good when it comes to adding to her resume. She then began working with Chris Stokes and he was managing Jamila and also her sister called Miyoko. Then they created an R&B group called Gyrl.
The group then began touring with R&B group called Immature. And at the time that group was signed to MCA/Silas Records. It had members like Jamila, Miyoko and Paulette Maxwell. They became backup dancers for the group called Immature. They appeared in music videos like “Da Munchies” and also “Constantly, Constantly” and also “I Don’t Mind.” They released their debut song called “Play Another Slow Jam.” The song peaked at number 74 for the R&B charts. After the release of the song Paulette then left the group. And in 1997 Glorika “Jeanae” Briley and Tai-Amber Hoo later joined Gyrl. And they released a song called “Get Your Groove On.”
After that the group went their own separate ways. And in 2005 Mila J was featured in another group called Dame Four, with Tomasina Parrot, Tennille Mathis and Mercedes Nelson, who released the single “How We Roll.” They then split up after that. Groups are hard when it comes to maintaining. There is also a lot of personality that a lot of people can have a hard time maintaining. In the early 2000’s Mila then went on a break when it comes to the music industry. Because she has been in 2 different groups. And also she didn’t know who she was when it comes to being an artist.
And this was a good needed break. Because she was able to figure out who she was. It’s good to figure out who you are as an artist. There are so many things that you can learn when it comes to your own career. She then signed with Universal Motown Records. She then appeared on songs like RaRa, IMx, and Omarion. Her debut album is called “Split Personality.” And it was executively produced by people like Chris Stokes. It also has artists that were featured like Marques Houston, Young Rome, Rufus Blaq, and The Underdogs. Her album was then released in 2006. The time that she started releasing music is very interesting.
She then released a mixtape that was released on DatPiff. And it was free and available on there. When it comes to music during the time that you could go on websites like this and listen to mixtapes, it was really good. The mixtape released more than 700,000 thousand downloads. She then released a music video on Vevo. She then appeared as a special guest on the Magic Tour headlined by sister Jhene Aiko. She then released a song called “Smoke, Drink, and Break Up.” She was also featured on a song with Trey Songz. She then released another song called “My Main.” She has also been featured in Jodeci’s
“The Past, The Present, The Future” with a track titled “Body Parts.” She also left Motown Records in 2017. She then released a 13-track album called “Dopamine.” She has talked about Janet Jackson being the one that she has been influenced by. She has been doing well when it comes to making sure that she is able to do her own solo career. Her song with Ty Dolla Sign has more of a pop vibe and there is a lot of dancing in the video. There are some people that may compare her to Ciara. And there is a little bit of similarities but they are not the same.

When it comes to music, dancing is really hard to do and singing and performing on stage. That is a skill that requires a lot. There are people like Jennifer Lopez that began as a dancer and then after that they became actresses. In today’s world, can you become a dancer and then cross over into acting and music?
