His real name is actually Sigmund Esco Jackson. And he is born on the 4th of May 1951. On his mother’s 21st birthday. They were brought up in a 2 bedroom house. All 9 children were raised in 2 bedrooms. Which is actually crazy. Rebbie Jackson talked about their arrangements. His father formed the group. The Jackson 5. And at that time it was Tito he saw him playing a guitar. And that’s where he came up with the idea. By 1964 Michael Jackson became the lead singer. Katherine actually discovered that her son Michael could actually sing. The brothers were always rehearsing everyday after school. They were doing that to improve their craft.
This was clearly a lot for young people. Because they are young. They want to have fun. But they have to make sure that they are practicing especially if they want to be successful in the showbiz. Joe Jackson saw the talent when it comes to his sons. And some of his sons. Especially talked about how strict he was growing up. Any time that they were practicing. They even used to sing harmonies with their mother. Joe Jackson had a goal when it came to his group. They knew that their talent could get them out of Gary, Indiana. Before the group signed to Motown he actually wanted to pursue a career when it comes to Basketball. The Jacksons had hit songs like “I Want You Back” and also “ABC.” Those 2 songs became really big. And they are still being played and it’s successful. The Jacksons then left Motown.
And in 1976. His role as a songwriter and singer was increasing. You can hear his vocals on “Enjoy Yourself.” He also added composition when it comes to 6 of the group’s albums. One of his most successful songs is called “Can You Feel It” and it’s also co-written by Michael Jackson as well. The song became an international hit in 1981. Jackie was doing more and more lead vocals. On their 1984 album called “Victory.” He wrote the song “Torture.” In 1984 Michael Jackson announced that he was leaving the group. And in 1985 Marlon left the group. Jackie, Tito and Randy were becoming producers and singers and doing their own thing. And in 1987 they reunited together for a song called “Time Out for the Burglar.” For the movie “Burglar.”
And in 1988 they recorded their last album called “2300 Jackson Street.” And at Madison Square Garden for his 30th anniversary special. And in 1973 he released his solo album called “Jackie Jackson.” He then signed to Polydor. And then he released another one in 1989 called “Be the One.” “Stay” was top 10 R&B song. Many of the Jacksons carved out their own lane when it comes to Music. Pretty much all of them did their own and of course when you’re pursuing your own career. You want people to listen for it for you. And you don’t want comparisons.
Jackie then pursued entrepreneurship and founded and ran two record companies. He has been married a couple of times and he has 4 children. His wife died in 1997 of Cancer. When you look at his career. He has done well. When it comes to making sure that he does his own. And him pursuing business. It’s not shocking because many people they always want to pursue business. And they always want to do their own thing. As of now they are still performing and doing their own thing and still performing. The Jackson 5 have had longevity when it comes to their career. And the reason why is because they have made authentic Music.
As of now he has lost another brother called Tito and if it wasn’t for him. The Jackson 5 wouldn’t have existed. And that is another sad situation. Because we are so used to seeing them being the 5. And now that another one is gone Tito and Michael. They are both gone. Michael Jackson’s death was worldwide and everybody is shocked when it comes to his death. It’s almost like the world stopped. It was really shocking and him being gone was such a blow to the Music industry. And both have contributed when it comes to the Jackson 5. They are still going on tour when it comes to Europe and doing their own thing.
He was posted on Instagram celebrating his birthday with his mother. It’s nice to see him with his mother and also sister LaToya. The Jackson’s contribution since the 60s till now is pretty crazy. There are so many things that they have seen. They are legends in their own right. Their contributions will be studied. Because when you look at their history it’s pretty crazy. And there is a lot that this family has done. Their contributions need to be respected and people shouldn’t wait until later. They should always give them props. Because they have been successful for a long time.
Longevity is something that many artists lack. They don’t have longevity. And they are not successful for a long time. They can easily fall off and we wanted to know why that happens. The Jackson 5 were authentic when you look at their performances. The way that they would perform together. It’s just so real and raw. And they didn’t give up. They had rejections at first. And they kept on going. And Motown became like a family for them. And you can see the way that Motown became such a big thing for them. Motown is interesting when it comes to it. Motown was clearly the place that they became very successful.
This shows that when it comes to being signed to a successful label. They basically become your machine and that’s why many people wanted to be signed for them. And it makes a lot of sense when it comes to it. That’s why many people were signed. Because they knew it will become successful. TLC was signed. However, when it comes to money they lost a lot. With Motown the Jacksons felt like they learned a lot when it comes to the Music business. And they were able to work with amazing producers and songwriters. And it was a good opportunity when it came to it. He could really showcase himself.
