H.E.R is born to a Filipino mother and a black American father. Both of the origins of her parents.They actually are very good singers in does countries.When you look at the most succesful people a lot are Black americans .And also they have Filippino heritage. In her mother side they did Karaoke events. Karaoke events are something that you see Filippino people do.And that could have been very instrumental when it comes to her being an Artist today.At the age of 10 years old she peformed an Alicia keys song at the Today show.You can see video of her performing it on Youtube.
She also covered an Aretha franklin song Freeway of Love.She started acting at 9 years at a Nickelodeon show called School Gyrls.The show was actually created by Nick cannon.She performed at different places like Maury , Good morning America , and the view.This is actually a good way to actually to get your name out there.To get these type of opportunities though to perform at these places.Ain’t the easiest.At that time she was managed by Will smith company.At the age of 12 years she performed at the Bet awards .And she covered an Alicia keys song.Alicia keys influence on these young Artist is quite big.
When H.E.R was just 14 years old she signed with J Records.Something to prove was the first song that she released.H.E.R success wasn’t as quick as others.It took time for her to break in the Music industry.So then after H.E.R decided to rebrand herself.And as you can see she was always wearing glasses.You couldn’t really see her face.And she could have done that on purpose because she didn’t want people to focus on the way she looks.But more on her talent.This era that we live in a lot of people are focused on their Beauty and Body to the point that.They oversexualize women in Music
Tems even said that when she used to go the Studio. She would always wear baggy clothes .Because she didn’t want the person that she was working with to focus on her body.Her debut Ep was released in 2016.And she got a lot of support from different Atist like Usher , Tyrese , Pusha t , Wyclef jean.April of 2017 rihanna posted a video of herself playing her Music in the background and that also got her a lot of support all these different co signs that she was getting from all these artist helped her a lot.
H.E.R released her second Ep in 2017.The type of R&B music that she makes is a mixture of old school and new school. You can tell that she gets a lot of her influence from her the old school music.And even the age that she was .She was covering early 2000’s song.Will this generation have an affect on the next generation when it comes to Old school R&B will people care to listen. And use that as their inspiration.Some people feel like Mariah carey feel like Music is like fast food.And there isn’t any Classic music.The music that is being made gets forgotten easily.
H.E.R was also winning Grammy’s . For Best R&B song.September 2020 she was performing a Prince song called Nothing compares to you.The difference between this generation and Prince generation is that we don’t have stars like that anymore.The game has changed when it comes to the Music industry.The reason why we may not have stars is because of the rise of social media.H.E.R is a good singer . You can tell that she is actually a real Artist that took singing lessong and learning how to play different instruments.This is not something that she decided because she can make money from it.
H.E.R also performed at the superbowl . You can see her using the guitar .people like H.E.R are appreciated because there isn’t that many real stars left .There are only a few . H.E.R hasn’t released a lot of Music .And that could be .Because she takes her craft seriously and she isn’t in a rush.And people don’t always like overconsumption.When there is just too many Music being released at the same time.It can dillute the Artist career .And people may not take it seriously because of the amount of work that she has released . June 17 2021 she released a song called Damage.The song was from her Debut album called Debut on my mind released June 18 2021.
H.E.R was featured in the movie the Colour purple.Every Artist goes through that phase when it comes to being featured in diffeent movies because of the attention that they are starting to get.It’s always good as an Artist to try different things because you never know what can happen to your Music career.And you may need a backup plan.Just in case things don’t go well.H.E.R is someone that will be taken seriously in the Music industry.Because her Music is quality and she is an Actual Artist.
People know that when they are collborating with her she isn’t a Tik Tok Artist trying to get a viral song.However , she is trying to make Music that will last generation after generation.And that what will make her stand out .Among everybody else.Shealso been recognised as Songwriter of the year at the Apple Music awards.This is someone that actually writes her Music.Which is not a bad thing if you don’t write your own Music.Because some people truthfully will benefit if other people were writing their songs for them.Because not everybody udnerstands the Art of songwriting it’s a skill like any other career.
She has only released 1 album so far.And we can’t wait to see what next for H.E.R.And she has won 3 Grammy awards with one Grammy.And too us that just very impressive.H.E.R doesn’t really put too much of her personal life on social media.You don’t know a lot about her except the Music.Which is very good.She came in to the Music indyustry.To showcase her talent to the world.And being a woman in the Musicn industry when your caught up with too much Drama it can actually ruin your career.People will just talk about the Drama that in your life.They wouldn’t care about anything else anymore.
