That’s why it’s very important to have representation. Because it can make so much of a difference when it comes to it. Now we have so many Black Americans who are successful. In 1947 she met her husband Joe Jackson and after they dated for a year, they then got married. They then purchased a 2-bedroom house. And from 1950 to 1966, they had 10 children in that house.
It’s quite crazy to think that they raised 10 kids in a 2-bedroom house. Marlon had a twin, but he died a few hours after the birth. So there is Rebbie Jackson, Jackie Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, LaToya Jackson, Marlon Jackson, Michael Jackson, Randy Jackson, and Janet Jackson. It’s interesting to see what the olden days were like when it comes to having a lot of kids. And how many people are not really doing that anymore like that because of the cost of living and how things are really expensive? Their life changed when her husband discovered the talents of their sons. And in 1964, the Jackson 5 was born.
The Jackson 5 was founded in 1964. It had brothers like Marlon Jackson, Tito , Jackie, Jermaine, and Michael. This was the first time that the family was exposed to fame. And their name became everywhere and known. And people really knew who they were. When they were making a name for themselves. They were performing in clubs and also at talent shows as well. They signed with Steeltown Records in 1967. The group was managed by her husband, Joe Jackson. Her children were thrown into the spotlight and they even had hits song like “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save,” and “I’ll Be There.”
During the early years that they were in Gary, Indiana, she and Joe Jackson would sing while he played the guitar. Music was always in the home. And there was a good passion when it came to it. Joe and his brother formed an R&B group. In the early 1950s. And it was to make an extra income. Joe Jackson also had a boxing career. But the husband went and worked in a steel company so that he could support his children. Because there were lots of children that he and his children had to look after. She was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. She always knew that her children loved music, and they were passionate when it came to it.

And even though his sacrifice paid off, it still was a sad situation when it comes to it. Katherine Jackson was the designer when it came to the boys and their outfits when it comes to it. This was clearly a family business, and everyone was involved.
Katherine Jackson filed for divorce from Joe Jackson in 1973. At that time her husband fathered another child. Joh’Vonnie Jackson. And then filed for divorce again in 1982. They were married until his death in 2018. What she was dealing with when it comes to her husband must have been hard. And the reason why she probably kept on staying is because of her faith and also the fact that she had this family. And she probably didn’t want to break the family dynamic. And in 1990 she released an autobiography about her life. She dealt with her son Michael Jackson turning into a superstar.
The media was always all over the family when it comes to Michael Jackson. And because of the fact that she is the number, they always wanted to know everything when it came to the Mum, so there was always so much attention when it came to her family. There were a lot of things that the Jacksons went through. And it was always in the media.
