Irv gotti had his grandather tht was from the phillipines and Black american ancestry .He is the youngest of 8 siblings.And has an older brother cally Chris gotti.Irv gotti career started off as a teengaer when his sister bought him a tuntables for his 16 birthday.He would make mixtapes in the family basement and would sell them for 10 dollars.He would go on an be a Dj at parties and at a local parks and night clubs.Where he discovered a rapper called Mic geronimo.Irv then became an A&R for TVT Records.During that time he signed Mic Geronimo and Queens-based rap group Cash Money Click.
Ja rule then became a member.Irv independently and produced Shit’s (It’s) Real by Mic Geronimo.This type of opportuntiy got him an opportunity as an A&R at Def jam.It’s crazy the type of opportunties you can get when you do something that people really like.At this time he was a dj for Jayz .During the rise of his career.Which is good because he saw everything for one of the biggest rappers.He produced Jayz song Can i live and it was released in 1996.Reasonable doubt.The big career attention that he got was when Jayz gave him the Don of hip hop.
Irv gotti helped get Ain’t no playa on the radio. In 1997 he signed DMX which was one of the artist that became very successful.He served as an executive producer for DMX album.It’s dark and hell is hot released in may of 1998 .The type of Hip hop Musix that he was reelasign is very different from now and doesn’t really exist anymore.The album went to sell 4 million copies in the united states.It was such a good opportuntiy for Irv to produce for DMX because he was one of the most loved rappers.And even stillright now he is still liked.
After helpign with the success of DMX and jayz .The label had grown 100 million value.Murder inc came about while he was watching television and the murder inc logo came up.And he decided to use it for his name of the label.The label was then given 3 million as a startup having the foundation of being in a successful label.I’t not shocking that he was able to get money to do it.The first album released on Murder inc was Ja rule album Venni Vetti Vecci. Irv was the executive on the album.It became successful.Ja rule is one artist from murder inc that was everywhere during the early 2000s.
Murder inc was involved with beef with g unit records from 1999 to 2003.For the supporters this was clearly exciting for the supproters however when it comes to beef it can get dangerous.When you look at 2pac and biggie smalls .The both eneded up loosing their life.And right now in 2025 .There have been rappers that have lost their life.because of beef especially drill rappers.Drill is a coimpletely different genre from hip op and there are so many things that ahve happened.This can influecen the nest generation of rappers.The reason beefs have become generational is because the previous geenrations did it.
Murda inc also signed Charli baltimore and Ashanti.They both became successful and ashantibecame very successful.Ashanti and ja rule would be doing lots of collabs and they would be evrywhere releasing music and making msuic together .The early 2000s they basically ruled it and many people always loved the collabs.The type of ruling that we witness and the Music that they were making is legendary Happy , Mesmerize , always on time.They so many summer bangers.When you listen to their music you lowkey think about summer and it’s such a fun time.Music was a lot more different.
February 5 2025 it was announced that he passed away.Which was shocking accroign tio reports it was from a heart attack.People online send their condolences.People know the type of infleunce that they gave especially Muda inc.At the age of 54 he has created a mark for himself in the Music industry.And he won’t be forgiven.When it comes to labels we ebelibe that they will be fading away.Because thye don’t know how to make artist successful anymore.And also streaming platforms have contol of the algorights.Their artist may not be pusged as much.Realaying on spotify and apple music is not always a good idea.
Bceause streaming doesn’t even pay much Snoop dof has complained about the fact that they don’t get paid that much and that is veyr true .They don’t get paid.And that why a lto of artist are broke.When it comes to Music they best way is making msuic that will last Ashanti and Ja rule msuic are still being played .And their msuic is very loved and cherished.People liked this type of music because it was very popular during that era.When it comes to msuic doing music that crosses geenration is the key to making a career about it.People may not care if you don’t do it well.
Irv gotti passing away just reflects on the fact that many of the leegnds are dying and the next geenration are going to be the new face which is quite crazy to think because some people feel like today’s music isn’t good.And that labels are not releasing goos msuic like that anymore.It’s hard to find good artist.The algorythim favours popular artist which makes it difficult.The difficulty are finding good artist and even when you find them are you ready to invest and put in the effort.That can be quite difficult when you know it’s long term
The long term effects are important when it comes to artist.When you have longterm artist that are puttin g the work .It will be mcuh better for them.Because it means that they can put in the effort.Of doing other things like improving their singing skills or even if they play an instrument that can be really good for them.They can learn instruments and understand the ways when it comes to imporving the melody when it comes to their lyrics.Lyrics are extremely improtant and they can make or break your msuci that you want to release.People don’t realise how much they need atist development
