In 1999 the group was formed by Michelle and Tse williams .And during that time they were already girl groups like Spice girls , Destiny child and Tlc so they had a lot of people that they were competing with.Which means that it won’t be easy.And it will be very hard to become successful.However , it’s not impossible.Kiely was the first member of the group.And then Adriene and Naturi .These girls were very young.I mean they were in their early teen even .It’s not like they were 18 and 19 years that were starting. “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right) was released in the year 2000 and it did very well on the chart.
The chart for their first song.And also with all the competition that they had.One thing that we like about the song.Is how different the sound was in the year 2000’s everyone in a Group had their own style which would make them stand out among the crowd very well.That one thing that we would say.It didn’t sound like everyone else.Like of course they would have the same type of vocals .But they would also have their own style.However , Naturi vocie stood out among the group.Playas gon play was released in the year 2001 and it did very well.
3lw album was released in December in the year 2000’s and it did very well.Being young was clearly their marketing tool that did very well for them.At that time they were mainly 19/18/20 year old coming up in Groups.Early teens were not there like that.They were the only one.So it made it easier to stand out among the crowd.In the summer they went on tour with Destiny child and also Dream nelly and also eve.The people behind them were clearly doing a good job.And these were young women who came from humble beginnings .Who became successful
In 2001 .There was the 9/11 attacks that happen and they recorded a song What more can i give with Michael Jackson, Reba McEntire, Usher, Beyoncé, Luther Vandross, Céline Dion, and Mariah Carey.Imagine being with all these artist in such a short amount of time.It’s very impressive to see.In just 2 years that their group was created.All this success came at the right time for them.And having this type of resume in a group is quite impressive because people will be more attracted to you. They will take you more seriously in the Music industry.Times are so different when it come to someone becoming successful in the Music industry.
Some of the legends are not alive anymore .So you won’t see Artist getting any co sign like that.The next album that they released is called Same Game, Different Rules.They collaborated with more rappers in the year 2002 called Loon.There was an issue going on behind the scenes.And naturi said by her was forced out of the group.Which is quite bad because all 3 of them worked very well together.And they had made handful of good songs together.That people really liked and they were doing very well for themselves
Adriene and Kiely continued together as a group.After Naturi leaving it affectedthem because already there was just 3 of them were you see people like 4 or 5 .So this wasn’t good for them.people wanted to see Naturi again.Because her voice stood out the most.The flavour of the sounded very good along side their voices together . adriene with that soft melodic sound and kiely had the base that carried the song.According to Bailon and williams they received death threats.There were some people who felt like colourism played a part in their situation.Because she was the only dark skin one in the group.Colourism is very real especially during the time that they started.
They selected a third member called Jessica j benson.And of course that didn’t go well.When it comes to replacing a member it never works very well.Bceause of the fact that people are not use to it.And they want to see the old member.It makes no sense.Replacing it.They want someone that they are use to seeing.Because they were fans of them.Now they have to get used to her vocie and being with them as a group.Which is very challenging.And that can really affect the group in a very bad manner.Because they look like failures.When it comes to group they are very challenging to maintain.
Neva get enuf was a song that was featured with Lil wayne .The song just contains the 2 of them .The song didn’t do as good as other.However , we won’t lie it’s a good song.But imagine if Naturi was featured in the song.How much better and attention could have gotten for it.It sucks when you have the biggest opportunites to really make the most of the fame.And there is conflict within the group.And slowly kills the momentum of the group.And there isn’t anything that you can honestly do about it.That is the reality of it.And it can be hard to let go of.
Adriene and Kiely went in to star in a movie called Cheetah girls that was released in 2003.A movie featured with Raven symone and also Sabrina ryan.This is clearly something that they needed after the lost momentum of the group that they were in.It came in at the right time.People were still watching television.And people were invested when it comes to the next teen stars coming in.Especially when your a young. People obsess with Disney that reality will come in.It will make you want to be invested in it.Because you see someone your age being successful.
The movie became success and they had different version of the Cheetah girls.3lw officially went their separate ways in 2007.And it’s quite clear.That they have made a name for themselves and they will always be remembered .However , there has been issues when it comes to people who grew up with them when it comes to the fact that what happened to Naturi was bad .There have been discussions online when it comes to reunion and that is not probably possible because of the things that have happed.Adriene did apologise to Naturi on the real daytime .So this just shows how much the group has grown.However reunion for now probably won’t happen.
