Latto is born in ohio . And she is born to a White American mother and a Black American Father.At the age of 10 she decided that she wanted to be a Rapper.And that can sometimes be the age.When children discover themselves.When it comes to who they want to be.And if you have parents that support your dreams .It’s even better .Because it will be way easier for you to become successful.Certain Artist don’t have support when it comes to their families.And it’s very difficult for them to go through with their dreams.Because if no one is supporting it.Then there is no hope.
Latto became a contestants on a reality series called .The rap Game produced by Jermaine dupri and Queen Latifah.These type of series can be amazing or really bad for some people career.There are some very talented people that will go on shows like this.And then became to good for the show.The show kind of dilluted the oppotunity that they had to become successful.For latto it gave her some attention.Because it can be difficult to become a successful artist on your own . However , Latto did have her Father behind her when it comes to her Career.
Latto became the winner of the show.She was offered a recording contract with So So Def records.However , she turned down the deal because it wasn’t enough money.This was a big risk that she took . Not that many Artist would have done what Latto done.When it comes to turning down a deal because it’s a once in a lifetime type of deal that happens.Especially when it comes to Jermaine dupri.Jermaine dupri has created so many Stars.Some people would have even called Latto dumb for rejecting . The music industry is a huge investments.And you shouldn’t just take anything.Just because the oportunity is there right now.
The deal that you could have potentially signed.Could have been the worst thing in the world.And down the line . You could have suffered the consequences to have signed such a deal.Just because you were in a hurry to make it.So then Latto decided to become an Independent Artist.Latto first mixtape was released in 2016.And the mixtape is called Miss Mulato.When your fresh from a Rap competition . You won’t find success very quickly.You will have to go through that season of postin mixtape after mixtape.Till you find that one song .That can put you on.Second mixtape was released in April of 2017.This is when people on social media were starting to know her more.
January Latto released “Bitch from da Souf.The song did very well.People really liked the flow and how the song was written.This was the song that made her very popular . And the song was released in January of 2019.She also released an Ep called Big Latto.The song was certified gold.The song was the promotion for the EP.This type of tradition of releasing a song as a promotion for your Ep is very important.It’s very hard to decide what song.Sound best to release it as a single for the upcoming Ep that is set to be released.
The song was featured with a remix with Saweetie and Trina.March 2020 she signed with RCA Records.You see how it all worked out at the end.She followed her gut.And signed with a deal that made sense to her.They are some people that don’t have patient and they want things very quickly.And that can end up backfiring on them.Latto was featured on a song with Gucci mane called Muwop.August of 2020 she was featured on XXL Fresh man class of 2020.Once a rapper is featured on a XXL class.That means she has solidified her career.Because it’s a big recognition.
Latto released Queen of the Souf August of 2020.And this was a pandemic year.When everybody was at home.It was a different time in the Music industry.They couldn’t tour or promote anything on road.Because there was so many restrictions.Releasing Music may have been a bad idea.However , if you have developed a loyal fanbase it’s not always a bad idea.Because people will listen to you Music regardless.Latto was featured on a remix of Just do it with Doja cat City girls it was a Chloe x Halle song.Something that Latto decided to do at 10 years old actually came true for her.
latto original stage name was actually . Mulatto she changed it because of the backlahs that came with it. She names herself that because she was teased for being biracial . So she wanted to have a name that was kind of empowering her.However, in this day in age.People will speak up on certain sensitive issues.Especially if it’s about race.And latto being half Black american.Will spark the discussion even more.However , she ended up changing her name.And some people on social media feel like.After she changed her name is when her career took off even more.Backlash and not listening or taking other people seriously can sometimes have consequences.
Latto made history as the only Atlanta Artist to have a solo record to be certified gold and platinum.Bitch from da souf and Muwop.May 21 of 2021 she released a song called The biggest.Latto first album Big energy was released September 24 2021.Latto also released a song with 21 Savage.Collabs are very important when it comes to rappers.The rap industry can be very difficult when it comes delivering music that people will like.Because the lyrics have to be saying something that interest them and that not always easy.Or the flow has to be impeccable to their ears.And many people cannot create a good flow.
Latto also did a remix with Mariah carey.February 2023 she was nominated for Best new Artist for the Grammy and that big accomplishemtn.Even if you don’t win.Because it’s a very hard awad shows to be recognised.You need to have made Music that is very Impactful.Latto was also featured on a remix with Jennifer lopez.It’s interesting she has been featuring with legend like Mariah.And collabing with the younger one coming up.Is always a good idea.Latto also did a collab with Christina aguilera.As of now she has released a song called Sunday service and it was released February 9 2024
