The album sold 1.5 million copies.In the united states.In 2009 he performed at Michael jackson funeral.And also performed at Obama inauguration 2010/2011.Raymond v Raymond was released in March of 2010 in the uk.He had singles that did very well on it Papers was about divorce.And he was just about to get divorced from his ex wife.Sometimes singers write about their personal life.Especially if the public becomes suspicious.It topped the hot R&b song.Omg that featured will.ia.m.The album debuted at number 4 in Canada.2012/2014.His seventh album was released in 2012 and was received well.At this point Usher had developed a fanbase that would love his music no matter what.
Usher in 2013 Caoched for the voice.And that was a good opportunity for him to give advice to other upcoming singers.That had the potential to become just as successful as him.Usher 8 album was in the works.Usher career has been interesting to say the least.Because he was very close in being dropped .However , his carreer ended up becoming successful.Imagine how many artists have been dropped because their first album wasn’t as successful.What if the label kept them and had the belief that Usher mum had in him.They could have gotten a lot of Musicians/Singers successful.
2015/2017 .Usher released a music video on Tidal called chains ft Nas .The album hard love was released september of 2016.It sold 28,000 in it’s first week.2018/2020.Usher was in a cameo in a movie called Hustlers.June 2019 he headlined with Erikah badu.This was before the pandemic when artist were still able to go on tour.December 2019 ella mai ft Usher Don’t waste my time . Ellai mai was a rising start that a hit album and song . Called Booo’d up. It makes sense for legend to feature with other young people.Because at the end of they day it’s good business.It can help with getting new fanbase.
June 2022 Usher performed at the Tiny desk series .A clip of Usher doing a a dnace went viral .It created a memme.And other then that people did enjoy his performance.Because people like Usher music, his extremely talented and people were probably eager to listen to his new songs and okd school songs.Because they porbably grew up listening to Usher music.His being featured by many upcoming musicians in the industry like Summer walker .Sumemr walker ft usher Come thru was received very well.Bceause people have felt like nowadays there isn’t a lot of good msuic being made.
In the august of 2023 he was featured on a song with Summer walker and 21 savage Good good his lead single to his upcoming 9 album.It currently has 58 million views on Youtube.This just shows that even after 20 plus years .Usher is still in demand and people still want to listen to his music.His success came slow.However , that was an advantage because he was able to create a long career for himself.There are people who started at the same time as Usher and have completely failed.And that because it came to fast.They didn’t take thir time to develop skills like Usher did for his second album.And you see how his second album did better then his first one.
Usher performed at the Superbowl half time show.Alicia keys was also featured in it.It was reported that Usher didn’t get paid to perform.It was completely for free.One of the nfl representives siad they don’t pay them . However they cover their cost and productions.The exposure that this singers get is amazing.For example it was reported that 100 plus million people tuned it.The superbowl have created a brand for themselves that they are able to get the biggest acts for free.Many brand swon’t be able to achieve what superbowl has done.
